Updown girl! ;)

Hair- down to there, down to where?! It starts by itself, weeell it starts by itself! I tell you, Glee reruns will be the death of me!:P
Anyway, i know i used uptown girl as my blog title the 'tother day, but i thought, theres enough uppity to go around!
So my project for today, was hair.
Updo? Downdo? Dye it blue?! ITS SO HARD TO BE A GIRL AND HAVE LONG HAIR aosijobsvnjdajk
Moving on, i googled celebrity updos, and i was agog. Woweeee, i mean, i don't have a personal stylist, but i'd LOVE for my hair to be like these...

I loooove how it can go from casual thrown up look, to just wow! Merrrhh, also, updos tend to look good with a fringe (or bangs depending on where you're from), so i'm considering buying one of those clip in bangs? Like llymlrs did...only not to fool my readers :P
So, opinions?! Favourite updos?

OH and this is a pet hate of mine:
la mushroom hairstyle. Mushroom colour- yes. Mushroom print- yes. Mushroom hair? NONONONONOONONONONONOONO. Basically, no.
Whitney, i love you, you are beautiful, but you look like you are wearing a mushroom on your head

Sooo, that's todays low maintenance, picture heavy post...sorry for vagueness, had a stessful day:/

Ciaou beautifuls!

smoke and mirrors

Well howdy there m'lovely lasses!
So today, as i've been busy with school, i thought i'd tackle an issue that i have with the glorious season of Winter. Yes, i love the scarves, mittens, hats, coats, boots etc etc, but the one thing i had above all things, is colds. i dislike the runny, sore nose, and on a shallower note, the red patches on my upper lip from constantly swiping at my nose with a kleenex. Eurgh. I went in search of an answer. I consulted my age old Beauty Book (published circa 1998), which, despite loving it most dearly, is severely outdated. It told me to find green foundation/ eyeshadow and put it on the red spot. I, being open minded, decided to try it this evening (you know those moods when you just fancy playing with makeup?! i was in one!:)  ), then, in accordance with my book, i applied my foundation normally on top.
Oh dear oh dear.
I looked like a grinch//human hybrid. It was truly awful.
The lesson in this, was to never put anything green on your face to combat redness. I don't really mind if Diana used this trick on her wedding day, the  method given was totally wrong.
So...how can we beat these red nosed days? (see what i did there? haha)
Answer is, we can't. We have to accept them as a part of out culture. However, it won't quite stop me from trying. So I turned to the trusty vaseline, the one with aloe vera,  waited for it to soak in, and put on my foundation. However, there was an awful oily residue left on my skin, and it looked like i had serious upper lip-sweat issues. Eugh.
So i have settled at this conclusion- just putting foundation over the top will not, i repeat, will not work. However, a healthy slick of vaseline, followed, after about 15 minutes, with a dabble some loose powder, should do the jobby. YAYAY!

Anyway, moving on, i thought i'd give you the results of my oil experiment..DUN DUN DUUUUN!
So, today, i had to deal with the awful oily look of my hair, as i ran out of time to completely rinse it out this morning, so when i got home, the first thing i did was shampoo the bottom of my hair, where i'd put the oil. I dried it naturally, and...woah. Like, genuinely, this stuff is awesome. I've had minimum flyaways and my hair is super sleek. Awww, happy days!:') Changed my parting around a little earlier, as it's just something i do to pass the time, so i took some rather funny faced pictures in my jamas! (Winter= thermal, matching jamas. oooh yeah! smooooooth;)) SO, here are some of my...well, here are some!

Haha, enjoy! Enjoy the remainder of your Mondays

Milk bottles..

Alas, no, dear readers, i am not referring to those odd but scrumptious little sweets.I'm referring to the colour of my skin this morning. Lookie look look look!

Please excuse the pose and the uniform...For some reason, my shirt looks blue? :$
ANWAY, this is me this morning. My hair was still wet from the washing out of the oil, so i thought i'd put my now sumptious barnet in a loose fatplait. Yes, fatplait - just a plait, that's fat Amen.

I'll post later once i've returned from schoolio!
Later m'lovelies!

Dawn of the...?

Good morning beautiful readers!
Again, the title has a hidden meaning..whew! It's like being in the Da Vinci code, on a lesser, less deadly and much less scary // daunting scale.
Anyway, my life, or at least my hair//make-up routine, are beginning to seem a little (dare I say it! haha) lacklustre.
I was watching St Trinians last night on the tellybox (anyone else tune in!? Aww, so much love for that film!), and my favourite scene in the entire film came on- The Makeover Scene. It's fantastic. I, personally, love it.
So there i was, my bowl of apple pie and ice cream in hand, and munching happily, in my rather mouselike manner, and BAM! There it was! The wake-up call i needed!
Lately, adventurous is the last word that comes to mind when i think of my day-to-day makeup. I'm not insinuating that i'm going to go out with power-pink lips and green mascara (as i only possess the first..thankfully?),however i am inspired!
I, secretly, loveloveloveLOVE the Posh Totties, and i'm going to try that one out! Just seeing the makeover scene made me remember the width and depth that can be explored in the world of makeup! And i'm rather tingly and excited now! YAY!

On another note, i'm just off to wash this oil out of my hair:) hopefully, fingers crossed, it'll turn out just as lush and soft as i'd hoped! I'll keep you posted (haha).

Just one last thing, i added a view-counter-y thing yesterday, and i'm so glad i did! It makes me so happy to know that someones read/reading my little blog! N'awww! Please don't hesitate to comment etc- much love!

Happy Monday!<3

Body Shop Monoi Miracle Oil

Not the most imaginative of titles, granted, however, i've just had a shower and combed my hair, and had a revelation.
I found some Spa Wisdom Body Shop Monoi Miracle Oil in my potions and whatnot cabinet today, and figured, hey, why not give it a go?
On the website, it claims the following: This fragrant oil is inspired by Polynesian spa rituals. It can be used as a body moisturiser, massage oil, bath oil or hair conditioner.
  • For body, bath and hair
  • Scent of gardenia and coconut
This fragrant oil is inspired by Polynesian spa rituals. It can be used as a body moisturiser, massage oil, bath oil or hair conditioner.

Well, i can certainly tell you, it smells very fresh and floral- so i'm definitely getting the Gardenia. Just saying, my product is quite old, so is called something slightly different, however, same product, same price etc, just from before they relaunched the product. I shampooed and conditioned my hair, then combed it through with a large tooth comb, then got a palmful of product (which is quite liquid, compared to the viscous substance i was expecting! good surprise though:)) and , for want of a better word, jujjed it through my hair. Just ran my fingers through it, to ensure that coverage was even etc.
I smell fantastic, as of this product. As my hairs still wet, i can't quite speak for it's results yet, but it certainly feels very silky and sleek..plus, no natural-dry frizz so far! Can't be going far wrong!

Concerning price, it can be seen quite pricey, at £10 a bottle, but it's one of those bottles that lasts for ages and ages and ages. My cousin bought a miniscule bottle of almond oil for her hair, at £16, and it's still going now..3 months on. So, buying a oil for your hair / body is quite a commitment as it's going to last an aaaage, so you best invest wisely (and like the smell). So far, i'm enjoying this greatly, and although i can't actually remember buying it (probably a present from yonks ago!:L), it's definitely worth the money, and the luxury smell and just velvet-y smooth feel of your hair will speak for itself! I'll post up my results tomorrow morning!

What's your favourite hair oil?!

BTW, i'm aware hair oil has been around for donkeys yeaaars, but i'm just cottoning on now! And i'm glad i have! yum!

OH! If you want to check it out, click here. For those who are very Well, is it a highly rated product?! (don't worry, i am too..), it's 4.8 stars of 5. Need i say more?

xo

Please forgive the mysterious title, and multiple posts today, but i'm ill, bored and all fired up for a mega blogging sesh!
Anyway, 'xo' is basically my homage to gossip girl, who instantly fills my rather cotton woolly at present, mind with fashionistas, privilege and the love of my life, Ed Westwick. (I can dream eh?)
ANWAY! A few of my current major style crush's are as follows:
♥Mischa Barton
♥Blake Lively
♥Leighton Meester

Mischa Barton, for me, is just...wow.
♥I pulled this from Google Images, and O M G.
Starting from the left, the black-and-leopard ensemble makes me think of those edgy days when you just want to turn heads, and this definitely would do it. And the hat=yummy..although, possibly a little too Thompson & Tomson from TinTin for me, but the boots are a resounding yay.
The 2nd look (blazer, suede shorts, brogues and aviators) is so autumnal it hurts. All brown and pretty, its very scholarly come stylish - ScS?! New trend methinks!
Third outfit is very happy&hippy and i have a rather soft spot for it. Throughout summer, i went through a total hippy phase, which, although i think has passed, my soul still yearns for tie-dye. This answers my soul's call.. ;)
Finally, my favourite look overall, of the four, completely, utterly and irreversibly. Those suede shorts from the 2nd look, a creamy pink-ish colour pussybow blouse, and peep-toe brown leather wedges. iodoiaallAFVKJGIbuigjkf. This = love

This is before Blakey dyed her barnet a rosey-gold colour, which, although i adore, i always love her blonde, Cali-girl locks. Her style in this is flawless, all muted and understated, but a bit of extra pow in the tartan style tights. Oh Blake, where oh where did you get that coat..??

Need i even say more?!
Why can't i just be you?! Jokes, but..seriously...i want need her wardrobe.

ooh! *confession time* on a day to day basis, i google image Leighton Meester to see what hairstyles she's rocking..for reference..

BTW pulled these image out of the metaphorical hat which is google images, i don't own these :)

Enjoy the rest of your sunday's m'lovelies!
